Whisperings

A whispering is a subtle communication that has significance. People who pay attention to whisperings escape a lot of grief. Those who recognize whisperings know that the first sign of a hurricane is a change in the wind and that gathering gray clouds may be the prelude to a flood. Some people must be hit over the head before they wake up while others avoid suffering by acting on whisperings. The following maxims have been tested and found to be true. I have benefited from these whisperings for many years and trust you will profit from them as well. Each requires some thought to avoid missing the deeper meaning. Take your time reading them and refer to them often. As your thinking evolves, the meaning of the whisperings will take on greater importance in your life.

Never think or say anything about yourself that you don’t want to be true.
The small precedes the great.
People who feel sorry for themselves, should.
There’s no right way to do a wrong thing.
Non-accomplishment resides in continuous postponement.
The fruit of self-indulgence is unhappiness.
Dread drains while faith inspires.
If you want to co-exist with people, celebrate their world.
It’s not what you have but who you have in your life that matters.
Be careful when you’re around people who don’t attract friendships.
All that I give is given to myself.
A diamond is a piece of coal that stuck to the job.
Age is a high price to pay for maturity.
Pleasure comes from outside of you; joy comes from within.
All evil is ignorant.
The weak become strong by attaching value to small things
     and doing them correctly.
There is no place to hide a sin where your conscience can’t see it.
Cheerfulness and unselfishness are close friends.
A closed mouth gathers no feet.
Making a living is not the same as making a life.
It’s a lot easier getting in than getting out.
An old young person will be a young old person.
Failure is a prerequisite to success.
Who gossips to you will gossip of you.
The faintest ink is stronger than the clearest memory.
A wish is a desire with no effort to realize it.
Nothing causes as much pain as too much pleasure.
Enjoy the good things of life when available and
make them last as long as you can.
Knowing is better than wondering.
You can’t be outstanding if you’re one of the many.
Anything that’s wrong gets worse the longer you delay correcting it.
To know and not to do is still not to know.
It’s easier to resist the first vice than to try to satisfy all that follow.
